About This Tool
Smart Data Redactor finds extractable text matching email, phone, SSN/ID patterns or custom keywords and permanently removes those matches using the local PDF engine.
Detection uses regular expressions and literal custom keywords. The PDF engine removes matched content before adding a solid fill.
Matching glyphs, overlapping image pixels and touched graphics are removed before solid fills are added. Metadata, attachments, bookmarks, annotations, links and forms are removed, and digital signatures are invalidated. Patterns do not find every kind of sensitive data or run OCR; use manual redaction for scans and review the result before sharing.
